An intensive 5-day retreat focusing on understanding death and dying from a spiritual perspective, drawing from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and its application to end of life care.

o Practical skills in compassionate care and support of the dying and their families
o The spiritual needs of the dying
o Meditative and contemplative practices related to spiritually preparing for death and spiritual practices for the time of death
o Developing understanding of issues connected with letting go, transforming suffering, loving kindness and compassion
o Building and deepening one’s own spiritual practice

The retreat will be deeply experiential – we will be applying all of the principles discussed to our own lives as well as the lives of others, with the understanding that the more we face and prepare for our own death, the more present we can be with others in preparing for theirs.

Staying in retreat provides an opportunity to spend time in a peaceful environment without the usual distractions, to use this time in the most meaningful way.

Compassion and Forgiveness 3-day workshop

Saturday 28 to Monday 30 March 2026 • with Venerable Tenzin Chodron

Compassion is one of the great healing qualities –
compassion for others and compassion for
ourselves.
The need for compassion is critical in our lives, as
is the need for forgiveness in moving on from
emotional challenges.

Tenzin Chodron is a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan
tradition who worked in end-of-life care and
spiritual care for over 20 years. She incorporates
Buddhist principles of compassion and loving
kindness with the practice of deep listening and
supportive presence in working through the
challenges we face.

During this workshop we will explore the Buddhist approach to compassion and how it can be used in conjunction with a powerful process of
forgiveness. This process can bring significant emotional healing and the resolution of strong emotional pain. We invite you to learn about this
process, to learn to forgive others and to forgive yourself, recognising that there is potential for healing in every situation.
